Catherine Ruth Carpenter was born 8:25pm on 23rd March 2005. Mum and bub doing well, Dad barely coping.

Jo is due on Thursday, but the obstretrician said the baby could come within the next two days. She is excited, and so am I but add a healthy serving of nervousness for me as well!

I earned ‘ankle of the week’ at the local physio. Played our touch semi final last night, and was chasing down a guy who made a run through our side – was gaining on him – and then snap, crackle and pop as I came down funny on my ankle. The team was perplexed because it looked like I did a fancy goosestep, which is the sort of thing one does when they are attacking, not defending.

This was ten minutes into the game, after I made a try as well.

Anyway spent a painful night hobling back and forth to the freezer to get icepacks from the freezer. Jo is going to make a great mum she looked after me real fine in my pathetic state.

Then off to the physio today – where I earned the dubious recognition of Ankle of the week – the nastiest one they had seen.
