12 month immunisations

We just came from the doctor after Catherine received her 12 month immunisations.

She is learning to talk, and likes to point at our cats and say – ‘ca[t]‘ (sic). Unfortunately, she says the same thing to the dogs, other people, non-feline stuffed toys, etc.

When we were in the GPs office she was sitting bright and alert and keenly surveying the room for cats, pointing and announcing when one came across her vision. Apparantly there were a few, but her eagle eyes eclipsed everyone else in the room because for the life of me I couldn’t see any cats.

I had to hold her while she received three shots – the first in the arm, which didn’t bother her much. Two more followed, both in the thigh – which were none too well received if high pitched screaming and tears are any indication. It was very difficult – for me!

However she recovered very quickly and was back pointing out all the cats within a minute.
